Responsibilities Solve a variety of unique issues relating to the use of one or more integrated open source components. Assist customers with implementing best practices around their use of open source components. Specialize in support of Java J2EE application components such as JBoss, Geronimo, Hibernate, Spring, Apache, Tomcat, and web frameworks. Join the on-call rotation to provide mission critical support services. Routinely using many different development applications and frameworks for enterprise, web, and GUI developers. Create technical articles and features such as sample applications, cookbooks, tutorials, best practices, and more that showcase open source projects and development techniques. Communicate with the open source community through forums, blogs, wikis, and other media. Qualifications
Experience in several of the following is required: Demonstrated expertise in the development, deployment, and management of scalable enterprise solutions Root cause analysis and troubleshooting Java and J2EE expertise Key open source projects: JBoss, Tomcat, Hibernate, Spring, etc Distributed computing: ActiveMQ, ServiceMix, Mule, JMS Database schema design and usage: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle Multiple operating system experience Requires BS in Computer Science or related field. Candidate should have at least 5 years software development experience, 3 years of Java/J2EE/JBoss experience. Open source project and community participation, particularly with J2EE projects is highly desirable. Committership on JBoss, Tomcat, Hibernate, Spring, and/or Apache is a huge plus. |
